3 ATS workshops with Glenda Schwandt and Brittney Grey of Hibiscus Tribal Belly Dance.
Glenda of Hibiscus Tribal Bellydance has been dancing ATS® for the past eight years. During this time, she has been honing her skills with her fellow dance partners of Wildthorne Collective in Kelowna,.
She took General skills in 2013 and teacher training in 2015 . Her love of ATS® made her follow her heart and decided to start teaching as Hibiscus Tribal Bellydance in the fall of 2015 and she has never looked back!
Glenda is always striving to improve her ATS® skills by taking on line courses and live workshops with as many teachers as she can. This journey has lead to meeting and dancing with people from all over the world that speak the same dance language, celebrating the strength in sister hood and finding beauty regardless of size or age.
Brittney has been dancing ATS exclusively for the past 7 years. You would find her practicing and sometimes performing with her troupe partners of Wildthorne Tribal Collective and now with Glenda of Hibiscus Tribal. When the opportunity arises, Brittney loves to improve her ATS skills and general technique by taking different workshops offered in the Okanagan and Lower Mainland Areas.
ATS has become her passion for a couple reasons. Its improvisational style of expressing music on the spot with her dance sisters is an exciting challenge! For Brittney though, the most magical part about ATS is its ability to bring all types of amazing women together that may not otherwise ever meet.
Belly Dance Show–Performances by local talented dancers from many genres of Belly Dance, including Kesavah BellyDance.
Be prepared for a cultural feast for the soul!
Nelson Dance Educator’s Showcase will be featuring Kesavah BellyDance this year! Kesavah BellyDance students: Elodie, Shari-Lynn, Barb, Shawna, Patricia, and Rebecca performing a fun Egyptian Pop number, and of course Kesavah herself performing a lively drum solo choreographed by the wonderful Queenie from Belgium.
As an added bonus Kesavah (a.k.a. Sarah) will also be performing with the Global Rhythms Orchestra.
The Nelson Dance Educator’s Showcase is put on every year not only to showcase the huge variety of dance available in our little town of Nelson, but also to raise money for student bursaries. A fantastic fundraiser, not to be missed!
